Abstract
ABSTRACT The existence of policies and demands from stakeholders regarding the company's contribution that not only pays attention to financial aspects, but also contributes to ESG and Board Gender Diversity aspects. So the purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of ESG and Board Gender Diversity on profitability, as well as the moderating effect of board gender diversity on the effect of ESG on company profitability. This study uses data from non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2018-2022. The results of the study show that ESG and Board Gender Diversity have a negative and significant effect on profitability as measured by ROA. In addition, Board Gender Diversity as a moderating variable weakens the effect of ESG on profitability with the control variables of firm size and leverage. Therefore, companies need to continue to contribute to the implementation of ESG and manage Board Gender Diversity well to increase profitability in the future
