PENGARUH PENGADUKAN DAN VARIASI FEEDING PADA SAMPAH DAPUR RUMAH MAKAN TERHADAP LAJU PRODUKSI BIOGAS DENGAN PENAMBAHAN RUMEN SAPI (BOS TAURUS) SEBAGAI AKTIVATOR

Abstract


In the increasing of human necessity for energy, renewable resources will be needed to replace the role of fossil fuels which was limited. One of the alternative energy which it could be selected is biogas. Biogas is a gas which is formed from organic material reshuffle in anaerobic condition. One of the material which it could be produced into biogas is domestic garbage which has a high organic matter content. Stirring treatments and feeding could be increase the production of biogas. This study used 2 large reactors  and 3 small reactors. The amount of waste for each large reactor waste is 2.5 kg of wastes, 1.3 L cow’s rumen, and 12.3 L additional water. The first reactor used a batch system, whereas the second reactor used a semi-continuous system. It takes 32 days to observed of biogas production. Overall, the volume of biogas which is obtained from the second reactor is greater than the first reactor. The volume which is resulted from the second reactor is 9.29 L, whereas from the first reactor is 8.38 L. Additional sample in variation of feeding is 60 grams for 2a reactor, 180 grams for 2b reactor, and 240 grams for 2c reactor. The results which is obtained from the feeding variation showed that the volume of biogas which produced by 2c reactor is greater than 2a and 2b reactor, 2c reactor obtained 337 ml, 2a reactor obtained 233 ml, and 2b reactor obtained 313 ml.
