STUDI PENENTUAN DAYA TAMPUNG BEBAN PENCEMARAN AIR SUNGAI MELALUI PENDEKATAN SOFTWARE QUAL2E DAN METODE NERACA MASSA (Studi Kasus : Sungai Garang, Jawa Tengah)

Abstract


Garang river is part of Garang watershed with the length of main river ± 42 km and it has tributary named Kreo river with the length of river ± 19 km. Nowadays, Garang river used to source of clean water for Semarang City, on the other hand, Garang river used to discharge of waste water from various sector. Therefore, Effort to make quality of Garang river better is necessary, one of them with study of load capacity pollution using QUAL2E software for contaminant such as BOD, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate and  mass balance method for COD. The simulation results at minimum flow (dry season) compared to the standard quality PP No. 82 Tahun 2001 found that Garang River can fullfill the quality standard BOD contaminant load class III, COD on class IV, NO3 on class  I, NO2 on class I,II,III (except in reach 5) and PO4 on class III. Meanwhile, Simulation results on maximum discharge (wet season) compared to the standard quality PP No. 82 Tahun 2001 found that Garang River meets the quality standard of BOD contaminant load class III, COD on class IV, NO3 on class I, NO2 on class I,II,III (except in reach 5), PO4 on class III. Particularly for NH3 can’t fulfill quality standard of PP No. 82 Tahun 2001 in maximum and minimum discharge.
