Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Teman Bunda program in suppressing maternal and infant mortality rates in Semarang City. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data for this research were gathered directly from the field through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and relevant documentation. To dissect this phenomenon, Everett M. Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory serves as the analytical framework, focusing the observation on aspects which encompasses relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. The findings of the inquiry demonstrate that the Teman Bunda program breakthrough offers simplicity for healthcare personnel and expectant mothers in tracking maternal and infant wellness in real time, expedites the transmission of medical information, and supports healthcare workers in identifying pregnancy hazards and stunting prematurely. Furthermore, this facility is also deemed competent to advance the efficacy of maternal and child wellness utilities at Bulusan Public Health Center, Semarang City. Nevertheless, in its execution there are yet a few hurdles such as system glitches, constrained internet connectivity, lags in data updates, and the minimal degree of public awareness concerning the utilization of digital platforms. Grounded on the outcomes of the investigation, it can be inferred that the Teman Bunda program breakthrough has provided a beneficial impact in upgrading the standard of maternal and child healthcare utilities, albeit enhancements in the system and uniform dispersion of utility access are still required so that its operation can function more productively.
