Abstract
Plaosan Temple is a cultural tourism destination that has great potential, especially because of its unique historical value and is known as the twin temples. Tourism development in this area is being carried out in stages as an effort to improve the quality of tourist destinations. However, until now tourism development at Plaosan Temple has not been fully optimal. The problems faced include the disorganized arrangement of stalls, limited parking and toilet facilities, as well as limited land because most of the area belongs to residents so a land permit process is required. This condition shows that there is a gap between the potential of Plaosan Temple as a cultural tourism destination and the implementation of tourism development in the field. This research aims to describe and analyze tourism development at Plaosan Temple, Bugisan Village, Prambanan District, Klaten Regency, as well as analyzing the driving and inhibiting factors in the development process. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation and documentation studies, as well as source triangulation to ensure the validity of the data. The results of the research show that tourism development at Plaosan Temple is not yet fully optimal, as indicated by the disorderly arrangement of stalls and limited parking and toilet facilities. However, tourism development has begun to be carried out in stages and is planned to continue in order to improve the quality of cultural tourism destinations in a sustainable manner
