PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP PARTISIPASI POLITIK GENERASI Z DALAM PEMILU 2024 DI JAWA TENGAH
Abstract
This study examines the influence of social media on the political participation of Generation Z in the 2024 General Election in Central Java, using a quantitative survey method involving 100 respondents. The findings reveal a strong relationship between social media utilization and political participation (R = 0.911; R² = 82.9%; 0,001 < 0.05), with social media significantly enhancing active political engagement. Generation Z demonstrates a high level of political awareness, with a participation score of 85.18%, leveraging social media platforms to discuss issues, share information, and influence public discourse. However, challenges such as misinformation and the formation of echo chambers underscore the importance of adequate media literacy and political education. This research recommends strengthening a digital ecosystem that fosters inclusive participation, enabling Generation Z to act as agents of change and contribute to advancing democracy in Indonesia.
