Salah satu daerah pesisir yang memiliki potensi peningkatan produktivitas di sektor perikanan dan wisata bahari adalah Pulau Pelapis, Kalimantan Barat. Sebagai langkah awal, dilakukan penelitian untuk menentukan nilai indeks pencemaran dan kualitas air di perairan Pulau Pelapis berdasarkan parameter fisika-kimia air, serta menyusun peta sebaran menggunakan ArcGIS dan metode inverse distance weighting (IDW). Sampel air laut diambil pada dua belas stasiun penelitian, dengan parameter yang dianalisis meliputi suhu, kecerahan, oksigen terlarut, salinitas, amonia, total fosfat, nitrat, dan pH. Hasil analisis dibandingkan dengan baku mutu air laut sesuai dengan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 22 Tahun 2021. Suhu perairan tercatat antara 29,8 °C hingga 31,1°C, kecerahan bervariasi antara 1,5 hingga 4,25 meter. Rentang oksigen terlarut di perairan tersebut adalah 4,5-6,8 ppm dan rata-rata salinitas berkisar antara 28,6 hingga 31,3 ppt. Parameter pH berada dalam rentang 8,22 -8,54. Namun, konsentrasi amonia, fosfat total, dan nitrat melebihi baku mutu air laut, yaitu amonia sebesar 1,60-4,57 mg/L, fosfat total 2,51- 5,19 mg/L, dan nitrat 1-2,03 mg/L. Status mutu air perairan Pulau Pelapis, yang dianalisis menggunakan metode indeks pencemaran, menunjukkan kategori pencemaran sedang. Oleh karena itu, perencanaan dan penanganan yang tepat diperlukan untuk menjaga kualitas air laut di Pulau Pelapis dalam rangka mendukung produktivitas masyarakat dam melindungi ekosistem. Water quality plays an important role in supporting the survival of biota in marine waters and the productivity of coastal communities, so it is important to assess current pollution levels. One of the coastal areas that has the potential to increase productivity in the fisheries sector and marine tourism is Pelapis Island, West Kalimantan. As a first step, a study was conducted to determine the value of the pollution index and water quality in the waters of Pelapis Island based on the physicochemical parameters of water and compile a distribution map using ArcGIS and the inverse distance weighting (IDW) method. Seawater samples were taken at twelve research stations, and the parameters analyzed included temperature, brightness, dissolved oxygen, salinity, ammonia, total phosphate, nitrate, and pH. The analysis results were compared with the seawater quality standards of Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021. Water temperature was recorded between 29.8°C and 31.1°C; brightness varied between 1.5 to 4.25 meters. The dissolved oxygen range in the waters was 4.5 - 6.8 ppm, and the average salinity ranged from 28.6 to 31.3 ppt. The pH parameter was within the range of 8.22 - 8.54. However, the concentrations of ammonia, total phosphate, and nitrate exceeded the seawater quality standards, namely ammonia of 1,60 - 4.57 mg/L, total phosphate of 2,51 - 5.19 mg/L, and nitrate of 1 - 2.03 mg/L. The water quality status of Pelapis Island waters, analyzed using the pollution index method, showed a moderate pollution category. Therefore, proper planning and handling are needed to maintain seawater quality on Pelapis Island to support community productivity and protect the ecosystem. }, issn = {2407-7690}, pages = {20--35} doi = {10.14710/jmr.v15i1.46572}, url = {https://ejournal3.undip.ac.id/index.php/jmr/article/view/46572} }
