Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi jenis, struktur komunitas, dan Mangrove Health Index (MHI) dari mangrove di Desa Gedangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode Transect Line Plot untuk mengetahui lingkar batang, jumlah, dan jenis mangrove. Analisis tutupan kanopi dilakukan dengan Hemispherical Photography. Analisis data struktur komunitas mangrove meliputi kerapatan jenis, frekuensi jenis, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks keseragaman, indeks dominasi, indeks nilai penting, dan MHI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 jenis mangrove pada Taman Edukasi Mangrove Desa Gedangan, yaitu Rhizopora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, dan Nypa fruticans. Tingkat kerapatan mangrove di Desa Gedangan untuk spesies Rhizopora mucronata tergolong sangat padat, sedangkan untuk spesies Sonneratia alba dan Nypa fruticans memiliki kerapatan yang tergolong jarang. Mangrove Health Index (MHI) di Taman Edukasi Mangrove Desa Gedangan memiliki nilai 63,84% (stasiun 1), 63,86% (stasiun 2), dan 63,53% (stasiun 3) dengan rata-rata 63,74% (cukup baik). Demang Gedi Mangrove Education Park in Gedangan Village, Purwodadi District, Purworejo Regency is one of the natural tourism spots that functioned as mangrove rehabilitation area. Mangrove rehabilitation in Gedangan Village had been started since 2010 as an attempt to overcome the problem of strong wind and wave. The mangrove area in Gedangan Village suffer from degradation due to logging and land clearing for fish farm, residential area construction, and agricultural land. Mangrove monitoring could be done to determine the level of damage and plan the rehabilitation for the mangrove ecosystem. This research aims to analyse the composition, community structure, and Mangrove Health Index (MHI) of the mangrove in Gedangan Village. Data collection was conducted using Transect Line Plot method to measure tree circumference and mangrove species. Canopy coverage is measured with Hemispherical Photography. The analysis of mangrove community structure data includes species density, species frequency, diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, importance value index, and MHI. The results of this research indicate three types of mangroves in Gedangan Village; Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, and Nypa fruticans. The density of mangroves in Gedangan Village is classified as very dense for the Rhizophora mucronata, while the Sonneratia alba and Nypa fruticans have low densities.
