The aim of this research is to estimate the biomass and carbon stored in mangroves in Ijo Estuary. The research was conducted in June-July 2022 in the Essential Ecosystem Area Ijo Estuary, Kebumen . The research material is biomass and carbon in mangroves. Data analyzed takes the form of mangrove vegetation data analysis which includes type, DBH, density. The research results show that the mangrove density in Essential Ecosystem Area Ijo Estuary, Kebumen is in the high category with a value of 4,300 ind/ha. The most common type of mangrove found is Rhizophora mucronata. The estimated total biomass is 1,230.29 tonnes/ha. The estimated stock of carbon content is 576.4 tonnes/ha. The amount of biomass and carbon stored in mangroves is influenced by the age, diameter and number of mangrove stands.
