HUBUNGAN ANTARA PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL DENGAN PENYESUAIAN AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA BARU DI FAKULTAS PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO

Abstract

Pada masa transisi dari siswa SMA menuju perkuliahan, mahasiswa baru dipertemukan dengan berbagai kondisi baru dan tantangan yang berbeda. Mahasiswa baru dituntut untuk mampu melakukan penyesuaian akademik agar mampu bertahan di perkuliahan. Kondisi psikologis yang positif, seperti psychological capital dapat berhubungan dengan penyesuaian akademik mahasiswa baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara psychological capital dengan penyesuaian akademik pada mahasiswa baru di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 356 mahasiswa angkatan 2024 dengan pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan menggunakan teknik random sampling sehingga memperoleh jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 185 mahasiswa. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan Skala Psychological Capital (19 aitem; α = 0.890) dan Skala Penyesuaian Akademik (24 aitem; α = 0.908). Analisis Spearman’s-Rho menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara psychological capital dan penyesuaian akademik (rs = 0.763; p < 0.05). Artinya semakin tinggi tingkat psychological capital, semakin baik penyesuaian akademik mahasiswa baru di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro. Sebaliknya, semakin rendah tingkat psychological capital, semakin buruk penyesuaian akademik mahasiswa baru di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro.
