PENDUGAAN KEUNGGULAN PEJANTAN KAMBING PERANAKAN ETTAWA BERDASARKAN BOBOT LAHIR DAN BOBOT SAPIH CEMPE DI SATKER SUMBEREJO KENDAL (Estimation of Ettawa Grade Buck Superiority Based on Birth and Weaning Weight of Kid at Satker Sumberejo Kendal)

ABSTRAK

            Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di SATKER Sumberejo Kendal pada bulan September-Oktober 2014. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi keunggulan pejantan kambing Peranakan Ettawa (PE) yang ada di SATKER Sumberejo Kendal melalui data bobot lahir dan bobot sapih cempe. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah recording data induk, pejantan dan anak (bulan perkawinan, tanggal kelahiran, jenis kelamin, tipe kelahiran, bobot lahir dan bobot sapih). Bobot lahir dan bobot sapih dibakukan berdasarkan jenis kelamin, tipe kelahiran, dan umur induk pada saat beranak. Pendugaan keunggulan pejantan dilakukan dengan rumus Estimation Breeding Value(EBV).K eunggulan peringkat pejantan berdasarkan bobot lahir dan bobot sapih diuji dengan Korelasi Peringkat Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan nyata (P<0,05), bobot  lahir terkoreksi antara jantan dan betina, antara tipe kelahiran tunggal dan kembar dua pada saat lahir dan sapih. Hasil uji Korelasi Peringkat Spearman berdasarkan bobot lahir dan bobot sapih cempe menunjukkan hubungan nyata (p<0,05). Simpulan penelitian adalah pejantan dengan Tag 025, 0455 dan 0420 adalah pejantan yang unggul, karena memiliki nilai pemuliaan yang tinggi berdasarkan bobot lahir dan bobot sapih cempe.

ABSTRACT

This research was conducted at SATKER Sumberejo Kendal from September to October 2014. The objective of this study was to evaluate the superiority of Ettawa grade buck on the basis of weight at the birth and weaning. Materials used were the records of parent and kids (mating time, date of birth, sex, type of birth, birth weigth and weaning weight).Birth and weaning weigthwere  standardized based on sex, types of birth and age of parent at kidding. Estimation of buck superiority was conducted by using the formula of Estimation Breeding Value (EBV). Rank of buck superiority on birth and weaning weight were tested by Spearman’s Rank Correlation. The results showed that there wereno significant differences (P<0.05) between male and female and type of birth at birth and weaning time. Result of Spearman’s rank correlation test on the buck superiority on the basis of birth and weaning weight showed the significant correlation (P<0.05).The conclusion of this research that  bucks with Tag 025, 0455 and 0420 were superiorbuck, because they had  a high breeding value based on birth weight and weaning weight kid.
